Argentine president assures he will continue Kirchner’s legacy

Buenos Aires, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Tuesday paid tribute to Nestor Kirchner, on the tenth anniversary of his death, and assured that his duty is to continue and complete the tasks that the former head of State started in 2003.

At the Kirchner Cultural Center (KCC), which is the biggest in Latin America, the former head of Cabinet of the ninth Argentine president after the return of democracy in 1983 underlined that he will work to complete Nestor’s dream, which was continued by Cristina Fernandez, for a better Argentina.

This is the most difficult speech that I have made, the president said at the foot of the bronze statue that was erected at the entrance of the headquarters of UNASUR in Quito, Ecuador, and that was placed on the hall of the KCC.

‘In my life there was a before and an after Kirchner,’ Fernandez noted in another part of his speech, after pointing out that beside him, he realized that there was another way of making politics.

He highlighted Kirchner’s epic, force and courage to confront everyone, something that he described as unusual in politics, and added that he succeeded in doing what in policy was considered difficult to do, from establishing a dignified Supreme Court to lead the Judicial Power to end the freedom of the génocidaires.

Fernandez said that ‘he was capable of returning the idea that politics made sense and was the path to an entire generation.’

Regarding the idea of placing the statue at the cultural center named after Kirchner, Fernandez noted that it is the best place, because he always dreamed about that space like it is today. From now on, he said, people could see the man who had the idea of building this, the president who changed the history of Argentina.
