Bolivian parliament to begin proceedings against de facto government

La Paz, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian Parliament will begin on Tuesday the process so that de-facto president Jeanine Añez and several ministers can answer for the massacres occurred in Sacaba (Cochabamba), Senkata (La Paz) and other events.

The investigation commission, made up of legislators and senators, will specify who ordered and executed the 2019 massacres in Senkata, El Alto, adjacent to La Paz, and Sacaba, in the Cochabamba department.

The commission’s report states that some 37 people died, 27 of whom were shot, in these military and police operations, conducted after the coup d’Etat against President Evo Morales.

Cambio newspaper posted on Facebook that Añez will also respond for signing Supreme Decree 4078 with which she authorized the Armed Forces to carry out operations to restore public order and exempted the military from any criminal responsibility.

Senator Victor Borda, president of the investigation commission, confirmed that Government Minister Arturo Murillo ruled out cooperating and therefore he could face justice for contempt of the legislative power.
