Iran enacts sanctions against US ambassador to Iraq

Tehran, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) Iran enacted on Friday sanctions against the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, for his key role in the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani perpetrated by US aviation in Baghdad in January.

Tueller played an important role in coordinating terrorist actions in the neighboring Arab country, in West Asia, and in promoting punitive measures against the Islamic Republic, indicated Foreign Ministry spokesperson Said Jatibzade.

In a message on social networks, Jatibzade reported the same punishment for two other US diplomats involved in the crimes carried out against the Iranian people by the Trump administration.

The spokesperson noted that anti-Iranian measures would not go unpunished.

Jatibzade’s statement responds to the US Treasury Department that sanctioned the Iranian ambassador to Iraq and five other Iranian entities for alleged attempts to intervene in the US presidential elections.
