A report from Californian newspaper La Opinion states that low-income communities across the world and minorities are the hardest-hit sectors by climate change, which is expected to exacerbate their inequalities and vulnerabilities.

Researchers agreed on this definition after discussing the impacts of climate change on health and the environment, as well as possible political solutions.

Bullard, professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy at the University of South Texas and better known as The Father of Environmental Justice, participated with other experts in a virtual meeting on the issue ‘The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States and globally.’

Air pollution causes more than 200,000 early deaths each year, poor people and minorities are disproportionately affected. Practically, people breathe at their own risk, Bullard said.

Dr. Rajendra Shende, Chairman of TERRE Policy Center and former director in United Nations Environment Program, warned that unlike the Covid-19 pandemic did not give a warning of its emergence, a global disaster awaits us by 2030, which may be for health or environmental reasons.
