According to the government information service, the preparation of tourism workers will be extended throughout the week with the intention of providing information on the Covid-19 protocols that regulate activities within the industry.

Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. will organize a series of workshops designed to help tourism stakeholders become familiar with the new travel and entry measures and safety requirements.

Transport operators, receptionists, guest service staff, customer experience, conference facilities and attractions, as well as bar and restaurant staff are invited to attend the training.

Other sessions include cleaning and maintenance workers, gardeners, pool and laundry assistants, as well as all ancillary personnel associated with the industry.

The program concludes on Thursday with a workshop for water sports operators, diving stores, recreational boats, lifeguards and beach vendors.

The biosecurity protocols establish the mandatory Covid-19 PCR test performed at least 72 hours prior to arrival in Barbados, movement restrictions according to the high risk of infection in the country of origin and daily temperature controls.

According to the Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Lisa Cummins, the Barbados government welcomes travelers in a safe and responsible manner, but in light of the Covid-19, the health of all citizens is a priority.
