In its press warning number four, the Forecast Center of that scientific institution updated that the central pressure of Delta is 1,002 two hectoPascal and is now moving towards the west at a rate of 11 kilometers per hour.

At noon on Monday, the center of the storm was estimated at 16.4 degrees north latitude and 78.8 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 215 kilometers south of Jamaica and 425 kilometers southeast of Grand Cayman.

According to INSMET, in the next 12 to 24 hours this system is predicted to continue heading between west and west northwest, slightly increasing its movement speed and gaining more in intensity in the upcoming days.

Delta is expected to tilt its course further northwest on Tuesday and gradually rise its travel speed, conditions that will allow it to become a hurricane in the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

The Cuban authorities warned of the evolution and future trajectory of Delta due to the proximity of this tropical storm to Cuba and the favorable conditions for its intensification in the next 24 to 48 hours.
