Only 87 Covid-19 cases hospitalized in Vietnam

Hanoi, Sep 30 (Prensa Latina) Of 1,094 Covid-19 cases reported in Vietnam since the disease emerged early 2020, only 87 people are still hospitalized, the commission in charge of containing the pandemic informed on Wednesday.

Among the patients still receiving treatment, none is in risk of Covid-19-related death and 17 tested negative for two or three PCR tests to detect SARS-CoV-2, the commission said.

This Wednesday, the country marks 28 days without autochthonous cases and 27 days with no deaths from coronavirus, so the death toll remain at 35.

Meanwhile, around 16,000 people are in quarantine at hospitals, specialized centers or at home, most of them are nationals who returned from other countries.

Basic statistics on the disease, especially the decline in community infections, state that the July 25 outbreak in Da Nang is under control.

Consequently, the country is entering a ‘new normality’ stage that goes through the progressive easing in lockdown measures and the revival of economic and social activities.
