Angola’s authorities report 127 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths

Luanda, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Angola reported on Wednesday 127 Covid-19 new cases and four deaths from the disease, whose epicenter continues being in Luanda province with a peak of afflicted.

The Secretary of State for Public Health Dr. Franco Mufinda explained that in the last 24 hours, there were four deaths, three men and one woman, 48, 67 and 75 years old, respectively, residents of this capital; while there were 11 new recoveries from Covid-19.

On the usual press briefing, the expert detailed that all the recent 127 Covid-19 patients were from Luanda, settled in the towns of Viana, Belas, Ingombota, Maianga, Talatona, Cazenga, Cacuaco, Sambizanga and Kilamba Kiaxi.

The new active cases are between one and 78 years old, and regarding sex, 78 patients are boys and men, counting out the highest figure, set out Dr. Mufinda, representative of the multisectoral commission for the prevention and fight against Covid-19.

So far, the expert summarized, Angola has accumulated 4,363 Covid-19 cases, including 159 deaths, 1,473 recoveries and 2,731 active cases.

Among the active cases, there are 18 under critical and 18 more under serious health condition; another 81 show moderate symptoms, 62 have mild symptoms and 2,552 are asymptomatic, Dr. Mufinda indicated.
