Syria denounces terrorist provocation in Idlib province

Damascus, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Syria's Foreign Ministry denounced on Wednesday that terrorist groups in the Idlib province are preparing a provocation with an alleged chemical attack to blame the national Army and its allies.

The former Al Nusra Front, currently Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham along with the alleged humanitarian organization known as the White Helmets coordinate those actions with the ‘Turkish intelligence services and plan to stage an attack with chemical weapons against civilians’ with that goal, the document stressed.

The statement details that with the support of their western sponsors, they recently proceeded to bring two tons of chemicals and store that amount in the southwest of Idlib.

‘Syria holds the countries that provide support to terrorists, especially the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey responsible for the use of such toxic substances and the killing of innocent civilians,’ the press release highlighted.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed once again that ‘Syria has not used those weapons and cannot use them at present because it does not possess them, and noted that such crimes will not dissuade Syria from continuing its war on terror until it regains full security in its territory.’

The press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Returnees indicated the full condemnation of such provocations in the strongest terms.

At the same time, it calls on the countries that support those terrorists to stop these manipulations, whose victims are only innocent civilians.
