Vietnam relaxes anti-covid measures in Da Nang city

Hanoi, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) As Vietnam resumes the school year, the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang today began relaxing the social distancing measures in force since July 25, when there was a new outbreak of Covid-19 there, which then spread to other parts of the country.

Since the threat remains latent, non-essential service centers (bars, discos, cinemas and others) will continue to be closed, events involving more than 20 people will be suspended, and the capacity of public transportation will be reduced by half.

Restaurants and cafeterias will only be able to take online orders and sanitary mask will continue to be required as well as safe distancing.

So far, Vietnam has reported only 35 deaths and 1,049 sick cases, of which 619 were detected after the second wave of the disease in Da Nang. Of which 89 percent are directly or indirectly related to this, the fifth most populous city in the country.

Early this week, the outbreak there was considered under control and it was announced that prevention measures would be progressively relaxed.

Last Friday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc instructed the cabinet to focus on the recovery of the economy, although without neglecting the epidemiological situation in Da Nang and the territories where the disease was radiated.

By the number of cases, Vietnam ranks 161st among those suffering from the Covid-19 attacks. Its infection and death rates are also among the best in Asia and the world, with 11 and 0.3 per million inhabitants, respectively.
