INE General Executive Director Yuri Miranda said that 7.9% of the total unemployment has been caused by Covid-19.

He noted that the of the total number of unemployed people (434,000), 289,000 were affected directly by the pandemic caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

According to former President Evo Morales (2006-2019), after the coup d’état on November 10, 2019, unemployment rose due to the stagnation of investments and projects, the bankruptcy of State companies and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The plan of the de facto government to create jobs was a lie, said Morales on Twitter.
