The athlete reached on Thursday the minimum qualification score for the biggest sporting event globally.

Mansilla scored a valid 77.70-meter throw to qualify for the Olympic Games, becoming a Chilean record, after surpassing a score made by his compatriot Gabriel Kehr who had thrown 77.54 two weeks ago.

With Mansilla’s joining the delegation, Chile has 43 athletes for the Tokyo Games. The list could increase according to results in several upcoming competitions in which Chilean sportspeople can obtain good marks, sports authorities said.
