Taliban kills 23 in attacks in northern Afghanistan

Kabul, July 2 (Prensa Latina) The Taliban movement killed 23 people on Friday in attacks in the provinces of Badakhshan and Baghlan, in northern Afghanistan.

Police sources explained that 15 people died in Badakhshan, including members of the security forces, and five people were injured in raids against different outposts in the city of Faizabad.

Meanwhile, in Baghlan, seven people, including the head of the education department at Pul-e-Charkhi prison, were killed in a Taliban ambush in Khost district, local authorities said.

The sources added that two of the casualties were commanders of the ‘public uprising’ forces heading to the front lines to fight the Taliban.
