The soldiers were removed in armored vehicles from their illegal base in the town of Malkieh and entered Iraqi territory through the Al-Walid border crossing, Al-Khabar television reported.

Last Thursday, the Syrian television correspondent reported on the withdrawal of another 50 soldiers with their equipment by means of a military transport plane that took off from the illegal air base of Ruheibeh.

In 2018, US President Donald Trump had ordered a withdrawal from Syria, but his decision was never implemented and US troops relocated their bases within Syrian oil and gas fields.

The U.S. special envoy to Syria, Jim Jeffrey, acknowledged on Friday that his team deliberately misled his superiors about the number of U.S. forces deployed in that Arab country, after Trump ordered a withdrawal from northeast Syria in 2018.

Damascus repeatedly denounced that the US is plundering its oil and wheat, and assured that those troops will have to leave, otherwise they will face popular resistance to take them out.
